I am a design researcher and educator living in the Netherlands.

CREDENTIALS: Since 2019, I have been with the Civic Interaction Design research group at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences where I explore solar energy and more-than-human design. I also teach at the Master Digital Design, and hold a doctorate from Eindhoven University of Technology (2021) in Textile Interaction Design as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie doctoral fellow. My PhD thesis explored dynamic, colour-changing fabrics and can be accessed HERE.

CURRENT WORK: My work explores embodied relationships to seemingly intangible, dynamic materials encountered in daily life. I use techniques from research-through-design, auto-ethnography, and more-than-human design to materially engage these materials. Currently I am focused on solar energy and the design of relational technologies to support weather-guided ways of living in post-fossil worlds.

PAST WORK: From 2007-2015, my design practice explored wearable dynamic materials for artistic, research, and commercial contexts. I designed hyper-functional garments in a wide range of industries and lectured on the design challenges of integrating electronics into clothing. From 2010-2014, I worked on Vega Wearable Light, a line of illuminated outerwear for style-conscious cyclists in Gothenburg, Sweden.
